How good is Skype? We are going to be using it A LOT soon.
At the moment though, it’s the main way we are getting to know our future teammates, Andrea and McKenzie Dorigo. Andrea is from Trieste and McKenzie is from the USA. We hung out with them for 2 days during our trip last December. They have an AMAZING story of how they got together, how they became Christians and how God gave them a heart for Trieste. They are both exactly our age – freaky!
We’ve been hanging out with them online to chat about Italy stuff, so I’ve been calling these meetings what they really are: Skype Dates. And so our Skype Date this week, like most early dates in new relationships, featured the customary awkward moments (in this case, where technology fails you and the video or audio feed freezes and you only realise after a few seconds that you were talking to yourself…). But it also featured some awesome moments, where our hearts and minds came together and resonated somewhere in the heavens – you know those moments? Most of all we just loved that they were so excited for us to come and join them, so that together we could pray for the people of Trieste – that their hearts would be open to the Gospel and that God would pour out His Spirit on this city. Graham and I just looked at each other (and thought – yep, we could come and do that with you) and had God’s assurance once again, that this relationship really has the potential to go somewhere special… stay tuned!
